AkzoNobel Salt Specialties' aim is to be and remain the leading salt specialties business in Europe. They called in ARV Group to help assess the organization and ultimately implement a change program that would set a new course for company culture while leading to greater operational efficiency.
An integrated, stepwise three-year program to bring about improvements in maintenance, OEE, line staffing, waste management and basics such as 5S, zoning, improvement teams and performance management. The roll-out included not only essential Lean elements, but also provided for organizational development, with proper change processes attuned to the local setting. All key players, from shop floor to site management, were to be involved in drafting a multi-year plan.
